Diane Johnson

Diane Johnson, Assistant Director of the P-12 Math and Science Outreach Unit of PIMSER at the University of Kentucky, earned both her bachelor and master's degrees in biology and a master's degree in administration through Morehead State University. An award winning classroom teacher of middle and high school science for 25 years, she led the efforts to implement effective assessment practices through aligned curriculum and instruction in the Lewis County schools.

Diane has been a part of several NSF-funded projects, including ARSI, AMSP, and a Master Teacher initiative, which allowed her to serve as a partner with numerous schools across Kentucky focusing on science program improvement as well as co-authoring several chapters in Active Chemistry. Additionally, Diane served as the state Science Writing Consultant for KDE and has been a member of numerous state and national committees focused on standards, assessment, writing, and science program improvement.
