Leadership
Authors
For the past 12 years, ATI has been led by authors Rick Stiggins, Jan Chappuis, Steve Chappuis, and Judy Arter. Collectively and individually, they have written books for teachers, administrators, and parents and created workshops and materials in service of that mission. Carol Commodore and Ken O'Connor have authored books with ATI, contributing their expertise in leadership and grading, respectively. W. James Popham's series of practical books on assessment topics relevant to schools and districts rounds out the ATI collection.
Associate Presenters
ATI associate presenters Carol Commodore, Cassandra Erkens, Tom Schimmer, and Kim Zeidler-Watters are practitioners with long-standing expertise as teachers, administrators, and professional developers. They have been working in conjunction with ATI authors to carry the lessons of assessment literacy to districts and schools throughout the country. ATI associates provide in-depth workshops and consultation at the district and school level focused on leading professional development in classroom assessment practices.
Consultants
ATI has recently added a dedicated cadre of educational consultants who offer one-day "Getting Started" workshops to introduce the content of each of ATI's four central texts: Classroom Assessment for Student Learning: Doing It Right Using It Well; Seven Strategies of Assessment for Learning; A Repair Kit for Grading: Fifteen Fixes for Broken Grades; and Assessment Balance and Quality: An Action Guide for School Leaders. ATI consultants are practitioners with extensive experience implementing the principles of high-quality classroom assessment at the classroom, school, district, and university levels.
