Workshop Goal:
The primary objective of this workshop is for participants to create an action plan to guide development of a high-quality district assessment system.
This one-day workshop is based on the content of the text, Assessment Balance and Quality: An Action Guide for School Leaders, 3rd ed. The workshop is designed to deepen participants' understanding of the conditions needed to establish high-quality balanced assessment system at the local level.
The workshop will prepare participants to do the following:
- Understand the components described in ATI's vision of excellence in assessment
- Examine seven assessment actions you can take to realize the vision
- Conduct a self-evaluation for your school, district, or organization based on the seven assessment actions
- Develop an action plan to achieve balance and quality in your local assessment system

K-12 Educators, District Administrators, School Leaders, Staff Development Specialists
